Documents for HQP/PAC TIE Renewal

A standard HQP/PAC TIE renewal under Law 14/2013 requires exactly 4 documents, all uploaded as PDFs in the online portal. Many sources online list longer requirements — those are either outdated or for different permit types.

1. Full passport copy — all pages in a single PDF. Include the biographical page, the current visa or entry stamp, and any pages with previous Spanish permits. High-resolution colour scan, not greyscale.
2. Tasa 790 payment receipt — proof of paying the €78.67 administrative fee (Modelo 790, Código 038). Pay via online banking or at a bank branch before opening the application. See the payment section below.
3. Employment contract (contrato de trabajo) — the current signed contract, including all pages. Must bear signatures from both you and a company representative. If you have signed addenda changing salary or role, include those pages too.
4. Formulario MIT (MI-T) — the official Law 14/2013 application form. Download the editable PDF from the Ministerio de Inclusión forms page. If it won't open as editable, try Firefox or Edge. In the form: mark RENOVACIÓN in Section 2, check PROFESIONAL ALTAMENTE CUALIFICADO in Section 5 and tick the subcategory matching your employer. Sign it (print + hand sign + scan, or electronically with AutoFirma), then upload as PDF.

Despite what many online sources say, the following are not required for a standard HQP/PAC initial submission:

• TIE card copy
• Employer letter (carta de empresa)
• Payslips (nóminas)
• Vida Laboral
• Company qualification proof
• Criminal record certificate (unless you have been outside Spain for 6+ months)
• Passport-format photograph (collected at the cita previa stage, not the online application)
• EX-17 form (that is for general extranjería, not Law 14/2013)

UGE-CE may request some of these later via a requerimiento, but they are not part of the 4-document initial submission.

The fee is €78.67 (Modelo 790, Código 038 — Law 14/2013 specific). Pay it before you start the online application.

1. Online banking (recommended):log into your Spanish bank and look for "Pago de impuestos" or "Pago de tasas." Enter the Modelo 790 reference and pay. On the AEAT form, select "Adeudo en cuenta" as the Forma de pago. Your bank generates a receipt with their header — this is the bank-validated receipt UGE-CE requires.
2. Bank branch: print the Tasa 790 form, select "En efectivo E.C." as the Forma de pago, and take it to any Santander, BBVA, or CaixaBank branch. They process it in person and stamp the form. Do notselect "Tarjeta de crédito o débito" or "Bizum" — these are not bank-validated.

After paying, note the NRC (Número de Referencia Completo) on the receipt — you will enter this into the application form.

• All files must be PDF format.
• Total upload size must be under 24MB.
• Scans should be high-resolution colour — not greyscale, not phone photos of paper.
• Passport scans must show all four corners of each page — no cropping.

Para la renovación del TIE por la Ley 14/2013 (PAC/altamente cualificados) solo se necesitan 4 documentos: pasaporte completo (todas las páginas, PDF en color), justificante de pago de la Tasa 790 Código 038 (importe €78,67), contrato de trabajo firmado por ambas partes (todas las páginas), y el Formulario MIT (MOV-INT) firmado. No se necesita carta de empresa, nóminas, copia del TIE, ni Vida Laboral en la presentación inicial.
